I've built custom e-commerce sites for almost two decades, so I'm used to advanced features and customization that are hard to get with basic e-commerce providers. I specifically needed international shipping and advanced sales tax features, as well as customization for products with multiple features. I researched several e-commerce providers before finding that BigCommerce fit all my needs. My client uses multiple shipping providers, including USPS, UPS and FedEx. Plus, she needed more advanced tools for sales tax collection, since she ships all over the United States.
  • International shipping.
  • Product features customization.
  • Easy payment integration.
  • Good customer support.
  • Good user interface.
  • More standard templates.
  • Easier image editing capabilities.
  • Simpler feature customization capabilities.
BigCommerce is particularly useful for our clients who have advanced e-commerce needs that aren't easily fulfilled by some of the simpler e-commerce offerings on the market. International shipping is the biggest reason, as well as the ability to integrate multiple shipping providers to enable customers to have a choice at checkout. We've been very pleased with Big Commerce's ability to deal with our complicated shipping requirements for both domestic and international customers.

We use BigCommerce to run our e-commerce web site selling luxury skincare products direct to consumer. It's an easy to use platform. You can run a website without knowing how to code if you need to. Of course the internet marketing department has no problem using the platform but it is also easy to use for our customer service department to manage consumer orders.
  • BigCommerce Customer Support is fantastic.
  • BigCommerce has consistently done upgrades and improvements to their product.
  • BigCommerce is affordable.
  • BigCommerce is extremely customizable and has a lot of 3rd party apps to do almost anything you can imagine.
  • If you're looking for a fully customizable website, this isn't for you. It is an affordable out-of-the-box solution so edits cannot be made to the main code that everyone uses. That said, you can do almost anything with the right theme and apps.
  • The product promotions were lacking but they have updated that this year so this is now a PRO not a con. I expect more promotion flexibility will be coming soon.
  • It would be great if ALL apps were available but it is not the fault of Bigcommerce that most apps are created for another platform first. But they usually get around to making them for BC.
BigCommerce is an out-of-the-box solution for e-commerce. If you don't know anything about e-commerce their program is very easy to use and they provide templates so you don't even have to know how to code. If you do know how to code you can create your own template and customize the look and feel of your store as much as you want. The products are stored in the database so when you want a new template you do not lose any of your product set up. Customer support is always available and very helpful.

I switched to BigCommerce awhile ago now after attempting to use some other shopping cart sites along with trying to run my own webstore software with not the best results.
One of the things I like about BigCommerce was the fact they have fantastic customer service and were able to walk me through making changes to my domain name and other settings I was not sure on. They also make it really easy to build your site and list products which has made for a nice looking website, but has made the shopping on my site a lot easier for customers which has also helped increase sales which has made a huge difference!
  • The customer support really is fantastic. Even with newbie questions I asked, they were quick to reply with the information I asked for, including helpful links which really made the difference in switching over and understanding what I needed to do.
  • I am really thrilled with the interface and how easy it is to learn to use. From being really easy to create new pages, edit themes, and add new products, the interface takes very little time to learn. The theme editor is amazing with its WYSIWYG-style interface--I was able to create eye-catching pages in no time.
  • The plug-ins you can add to your site are really handy, including shipping and payment processors like Stripe, which has just in itself helped increase my sales over using PayPal only.
  • Another nice feature is the security for your site, BigCommerce is always updating things and trying to make your webstore as safe for you and your customers as possible.
  • So far I have been really pleased with all aspects of BigCommerce and have not run into any problems or things I would do differently. Something small but something I can think of is in the theme editor. It would be nice to be able to add more items to a page, as I kept finding out I was running out of space when creating pages with lots of graphics/links.
I really think that BigCommerce is well suited for most businesses from small, like my company, to much much larger companies. With being able to easily upgrade your account to more features if needed, it makes it an easy choice. Not sure if this is right for you? Well you can have a free trial and check out how easy it is to set up a website and create products, categories, and pages. I really liked being able to do a trial of things to see if it was something I could design a site with or if I would be having issues, lucky for me things seemed fairly easy to use, and after using it for awhile I found that it was really powerful yet something you do not need to be a tech to use. Something I found really handy for my needs is the ability to set preorders so that customers can order items knowing there is a lead time on the item being made. As I make all the items I sell myself, there is a lead time and the ability to add this to the product pages before ordering has made a huge difference as right away my customers know there is a wait for it to be made and they have confirmed by checking off boxes that they know this. There is a TON of options and addons I have not even had a chance to play with yet, but slowly am as I go. Having all this available really makes BigCommerce a good option if you are looking for a place to host your webstore. I would suggest to have a look at their FAQ and Info pages and if you have any questions drop them a message as that is what I did more than once and they were really helpful and friendly.

It is used by the entire organization and one person runs it. Since we are a one-person operation, there are no logistical problems. It gives us the online sales presence we want and need. Because it’s only the me person, bigcommerce makes it easier for me to get everything done without having to outsource.
  • Easy to navigate
  • Easy to design with no design or coding experience
  • Simple to make quick changes as products and sales change
  • Easy to see and process all incoming orders
  • Quick customer support responses
  • There was a problem with one of the designs and I couldn’t get it fixed because it was from a third party
  • I would like to see more free template designs for us small businesses that can’t afford unique designs
  • The app extensions aren’t always easy to implement and are sometimes confusing
BigCommerce is a great e-commerce platform that is suited for the small startup and able to grow into a large online presence. It is easy to use, especially for those of us with no design or coding experience. It allows us to sell all over with ease and trust. I can do everything I need to with all our products and promotions. It can be implemented into different sales channels with just a few clicks. The App Store allows more integrations and expansions. Bigcommerce also allows for growth with varying features that can be upgraded as needed.

I used BigCommerce for about 14 years and switched to Shopify in October. I can NO LONGER recommend this company to anyone.
  • You get bells and whistles that other platforms charge extra for
  • They support all the different tax rates I need
  • I wish they offered better templates for free; I had to pay extra for a really good retail template
  • I do wish you could purchase other extras a la carte, such as Google reviews
I do not recommend them anymore whatsoever.

We use BigCommerce to operate our online store, which has been a significant source of revenue and immensely important to how we run our business.. with a huge marketing effort to reach healthcare professionals online with our products. We use BigCommerce to take and process orders, as well as catalogue our entire inventory for public visibility.
  • SEO - fast loading speeds, helps us rank on Google
  • Product customization - allows us to customize templates to our needs to fit all viable information
  • Integration with other platforms - seamless connection to other properties like Google Ads and Analytics
  • Customization is cumbersome and difficult to edit. Looks great, but typically requires costly development.
  • Introducing a new team member to use the platform seems like it would be difficult.
  • User interface is acceptable, but could be improved.
Well suited for running a catalogue website where categories/brands/products don't change frequently. Adding new products is somewhat cumbersome, but overall the experience is fine for maintaining inventory on our BigCommerce site. We're satisfied with how our site navigates and looks today, with lots of hits through search engines, so ultimately we're happy with this platform.

We normally provide b2c services , as BigCommerce easy to use for any customer so we recommend them to use BigCommerce, we provide them start to end service like theme setup , payment setup , product setup etc. so BigCommerce is one stop solution for it.
  • Customer experience
  • Faster checkout
  • More security
  • Easy admin management
  • Easy catalog ,order management
  • API document more in details
  • Free trial more increase for customer
  • More theme option
I have worked more than 20+ website of BigCommerce, its easy to use for any customer, and their 24*7 support is more helpful than others. BigCommerce admin area is easy to use for any customer who is technical or non technical. For security reasons no one can't modify checkout so somewhere its little less appropriate but its also feature of BigCommerce as well.

Our eCommerce website platform needs to be willing to work with hemp-derived products, and BigCommerce is one of the more well-known platforms in that arena. Honestly, in the last couple of years, BigCommerce hasn't really been my first choice, but again, when you're working with products derived from federally legal hemp, your choices are very limited. Having said that, I've been very surprised with how far BigCommerce has come in the last couple of years, specifically the Page Builder, which essentially allows you to select a free template, and customize it in a drag-and-drop environment, and if you have the time and ability to do that, Page Builder essentially negates the need for a paid, premium template. I would also say adding and editing products, and building out promotions, and customer groups are very easy in BigCommerce, and more robust than the other platforms I previously preferred to work with.
  • Page Builder
  • Promotions
  • Products
  • Order data
  • Complicated product imports/exports
  • Theme updates
BigCommerce is one of the better platforms, in our experience, when working with hemp-derived products like CBD. As a person with ten years in eCommerce, again, I'll say that my previous experience with BigCommerce was neither good nor bad, I'd best describe it as average, and not very memorable. In recent years though, BigCommerce has grown, and become easier to use, and if you're in an industry that a lot of other platforms define as high-risk, BigCommerce is, in my opinion, the best and most robust eCommerce platform you're going to find. Even if we stop talking about hemp-derived products, and go with any other industry like t-shirts or outdoor living products, the improvements on both the front-end and back have made BigCommerce a legit option, comparable to the best eCommerce platforms available.

The BigCommerce website platform hosts all of our products and processes all sales. Prior to changing to BC, I maintained my own website code and was responsible for all web-hosting. The old site/code was hacked more than once and managing security was becoming a liability. Furthermore, the old site was not responsive and became outdated for smartphones. BigCommerce fixed all of that, and I was up and running much quicker than expected. The templates are highly professional and feature-rich.
  • Provides a secure web platform for hosting eCommerce sites.
  • Includes many professional templates.
  • Includes many add-ons for order processing, payments, and shipping.
  • Would like to have better "catalog only" pages to show sample items that are not for sale.
  • The backend interface could be more intuitive.
BigCommerce excels at providing an affordable eCommerce site for the sale of products online. It does that very well and provides a highly professional look and feel. If your organization is planning an informational site that does not sell directly to customers, BigCommerce is not the best choice. Informational or catalog-only pages are clumsy.

BigCommerce acts as our online shopping cart. It replaced a previous product that had developed glaring security issues. BigCommerce provides a reliable, flexible solution for us. It allows us to manage a large variety of SKUs in our online marketplace. It has greatly streamlined online/mobile ordering for our customers. It has also greatly improved our annual pricing update process with its product import template.
  • Robust security and uptime. We are always confident that our site will be accessible, protected, and that our customer's data is secure.
  • Fantastic third-party integrations and options for development. Their responsiveness has been integral, and they are very good about helping to cooperatively find solutions to our problems.
  • Great product library, with support for Variant items. This fits the bill perfectly for our company, as we deal with hundreds of variant SKUs on some of our customizable products.
  • Great shipping integrations with ShipperHQ. We're able to pass across custom flags to help ShipperHQ build the perfect rates from BigCommerce's library.
  • Smooth Export/Import process. Their Bulk Edit Template makes our annual pricing update process a breeze. We are able to use our internal database to simply populate the exported Product data, then turn right back around and re-import. The import monitor does a great job of calling out errors as well.
  • Their support for a sandbox development environment has been a tremendous boon to us. We've been consistently using it to test layout updates, pricing changes, and new third-party integrations with the confidence that they will perform 100% in the live environment.
  • Smooth integration with Authorize.net, our payment processor. We are able to easily interact with the two systems and help customers understand why their transactions may fail during checkout.
  • Their API is exceptional and provided everything we needed at our fingertips to create our own script to import our BigCommerce orders into our bespoke internal order system.
  • The backend interface for working with orders could use some more options for dynamically querying and sorting orders. For example, it's very difficult to see all of the orders that are currently unfulfilled for a given customer. It's also impossible to see all of the orders in a given date range that contained a specific SKU.
  • It would be nice to be able to delete SKUs that are no longer in use. Even if the product is removed, the SKU it held is still stored and locked in the system. Sometimes these show up on exports and cause confusion.
  • Some of the options and settings are a little unintuitive on their location, and you need to dig a few options deep to find the ones you're looking for. A more straightforward settings page would be appreciated.
  • More ways to customize check out, such as with separately acceptable Terms and Conditions, and alerts for Delays in Shipping or Fulfillment.
I would say BigCommerce is most suited for a business that has relatively few unique products, but with an abundance of customizable SKUs. We deal with devices that can be designed to a variety of configurations and specifications. But a more common example would be apparel; Having a given style in a dozen colors and half a dozen sizes would amount to 72 different product entries in most systems, but BigCommerce supports it exceptionally well using their Variant system. It even supports different photos for each product, all of which can be stored in a single product record. This makes it incredibly easy to manage and update, even on the pricing side. On the other hand, it falls short when product offerings need to be tailored to a specific geographic region. For example, there are only select products we ship internationally, and we had to resort to a cumbersome dropdown menu that forces the customer to declare what country they are shipping to. This introduces the potential for errors, as opposed to what we wanted: For the shopping cart to autodetect and respond to the GeoIP of the customer.

All in one solution for setting up an online store. We are getting problems with our web servers and payment options, but after a thorough search, we have found BigCommerce as a complete solution. Now we don't have to worry about server uptime. We have got an extra feature of drop shipping as well which we are planning for our future venture.
  • Integrated SEO tool.
  • Multiple currency and payment options.
  • Drop shipping.
  • Point of sale option.
  • More free template.

We use BigCommerce for some of our client's e-commerce web solutions. We chose BigCommerce for its ease of use for the editors adding content and also the feature which allows you to add your own search keywords to products. This was the main reason we chose it over Shopify. Very easy to update and so far our customers love it.
  • Allows custom keywords for products
  • Adding images to variants is very simple for the end user
  • The free templates are excellent and very easy to edit
  • More control over how the homepage displays without having to code
Ease of use and has specific features that none of the other off-the-shelf E-Commerce solutions have. Very easy for the end-user to edit and add new or existing content, plus has a very extensive knowledge base and a good user community [that] has many answers to the questions and problems I've encountered.

We use BigCommerce as a way to reach customers across the USA. We are using it to offer all our brands to customers. We have other brand-specific websites, but we use BigCommerce to offer our whole [catalog] of products for purchase online. Most of our customers are based out of state so BigCommerce was an easy solution to bridge the gap between our company and our customers.
  • Easy to Setup
  • Nice range of plugin apps available
  • Clean website templates
  • Very good customer support via live chat
  • More Free Templates
  • Cheaper B2B option to be able to offer wholeale pricing to businesses
  • Better built in reviews system

BigCommerce helped us build pages and display our products on the web easily. It builds a website very quickly and easily.
  • Drag and drop
  • SEO
  • Very easy to do promotions on the web
  • Quite expensive
  • Limited online sales
  • The free templates are not flexible enough to make changes.
I like how BigCommerce has a drag and drop feature that helps you build pages and websites so quickly. For people who are not technical, this is a great platform to use. However, you also sacrifice some [flexibility]. The free templates look nice, but when you want to customize it even more it gets a little tricky to do so.

I use BigCommerce for my e-commerce business. I sell women's apparel, accessories, and home decor items. I like BigCommerce because it is highly customizable right out of the box without the need to install additional apps. I really like the ability to edit and customize every aspect of my website with only a few clicks.
  • BigCommerce is very customizable right out of the box.
  • BigCommerce has great customer service.
  • BigCommerce is affordable.
  • BigCommerce is easy to use.
  • Although BigCommerce is easy to use, I do wish they had more online tutorials.
  • I wish the categories in the admin were configured a little better.
  • I wish the platform integrated with more third-party apps.
I feel BigCommerce is well suited for anyone looking to start an e-commerce business or expand their brick-and-mortar business online. BigCommerce is easy to use, affordable, and you can get a free trial to test it out before you commit. While I feel the ability to customize everything is a great feature, I do feel that some people may find that to be intimidating and overwhelming.

We are using BigCommerce to launch a new small business site featuring custom innovations and 3D printed designs.
  • Easy to use interface
  • Powerful product setup
  • Excellent documentation
  • Theme customization could be easier
  • Trial could be longer
  • Starter site with sample products could be more detailed
BigCommerce is great for medium to large product catalogs. For very small businesses, the amount of work required to get started can be intimidating when selling only a few products. Most BigCommerce sites seem to look very similar - more diversity of default layouts and templates would go a long way towards providing a better small business experience.

I utilize [BigCommerce] for my online sales. I have a small hand-crafting business and BigCommerce has helped me to grow [my] online presence.
  • They have fantastic customer service - anytime I have any questions, I can count on answers!
  • I love the user-friendly templates that they offer so that I can have a professional store, without paying somebody to do the online aspect for me.
  • The value I get for my monthly rate is excellent.
  • I don't understand meta tags, etc., and wish that there [was] better information to help me hurdle that.
  • I wish I could see what I am putting forth before I publish it, instead of publishing it and then realizing that something looks odd.
I do a lot of vendor shows (except since Covid-19 caused many changes to those venues), and have interactions with others that are small crafting types of business, and I have definitely recommended BigCommerce to many people who are trying to build up their small businesses.

We came from Shopify, hoping to get a little bit more baked in from the start. [I believe] this was a big mistake. Analytics, shipping policies, and theme editing are all handled by third-party integrations, with two of those being an additional cost per month. [In my experience] some of the free templates seem a little nicer and more professional than Shopify, however, they are mostly not customizable without additional software, which means another monthly charge or going into the code. We also liked the way MSRP and Sale prices work. Additionally, importing/exporting is handled much easier and I like the Products editing screen, although some settings are hidden. Templates allow some minor edits and appearance choices but are mostly non-editable. The Menu Bar is completely non-editable. The footer is just a mirror of the main menu bar, which again is very limited. It is also basically non-editable as well, without going into the code or paying additional monthly fees for additional software for the rest of time, as any edits made by the software erases if you stop paying. BigCommerce is touting a new template drop and drag feature they are rolling out and [I feel] it is very bad. Also, support told me there was no way to move sections around after you create them, therefore the only way was to delete and start from scratch. [I believe] this is not true. The first thing you'll see when you sign into the admin is the dashboard, which [I feel] is basically non-existent. It has some minor specks of info and that's it. We also came to find out that BigCommerce does not consider an order placed until payment is made, so if you authorize only and then charge at shipping, your sales figures for the day are basically useless. [In my experience] you have to use Google Analytics for the simplest snippet of useful metrics. [I believe] the orders screen is a mess of accordion-style views. It doesn't show any fraud details or acquisition info. Also, [in my experience] checkout registration kicks the user back to the homepage and even the checkout fields are in a strange sequence. There was a hard pitch to get on the $1,500 enterprise plan and pay $3,000 to migrate data that we did ourselves in minutes. [I believe] sales is sales, it's understandable, but I'm reading that other users fall for this and [BigCommerce] charges cancellation fees. [I feel] the worst thing of all about BigCommerce is the 24/7 phone and chat support. It is 24/7, which is nice to have, but [in my experience] no one knows anything except for one person, who we have started asking for. Otherwise, [in my experience] every answer is "I think", "I think", and usually wrong, or just plain wrong right away. [I believe] you can hear the reps clicking through the admin trying to find an answer that ends up being incorrect, as you find the solution, or menu, or feature on your own a day or two later. [I feel] you should not expect any guidance at all with anything theme-related. [I feel] BigCommerce kind of laughs at Shopify for being basic and needing add-ons for simple things, but those things are typically minor tweaks for a few dollars. With BigCommerce, you cannot even work well without several integrations.
  • Easier importing/exporting
  • [I feel] phone support and chat are useless, because no one knows anything.
  • [I believe] they have predatory salesmanship.
  • [In my experience] the dashboard needs major updating.
  • Automatic collections.
  • Better and easier customizations.
I really don't like BigCommerce.

BigCommerce is Lindsey's primary sheet music store. She offers every type of sheet music she owns and her fans can purchase her sheet music directly from the BigCommerce website. Originally, she was using her own website, LindseyStirling.com, to list her products but after multiple management changes, keeping that website updated and running smoothly was a problem. With her new sheet music site, we can keep her sheet music updated as much as needed without the worry of having anyone else take the site down due to technical issues or management changes. It has been the perfect solution.
  • Provides a simple user interface for adding products.
  • Allows for easy credit card payment processing.
  • Very quick customer support.
  • Can hold a LOT of products.
  • Is separate from your regular website so if your site goes down, your store won't.
  • The website design portion is terrible. Very hard to update with complete confidence.
  • The website template is hard to manipulate.
  • Each product detail page can be completely customized. This creates pages with CSS that don't look anything like the site they're on; it's disorganized.
If you're a large company with at least 100 products, BigCommerce would be right for you. When compared to WordPress websites, you don't need to know anything technical in order to add/remove/edit products or do anything with your site. Their interface makes it easy to add products without having to know PHP or any other programming language.

We use BigCommerce to host our e-commerce whole sale website where we sell directly to customers as well as b2b. We use BigCommerce for not just hosting our website but it is also the portal where our customers can find us.
  • BigCommerce has a very easy to use control panel.
  • Online store creation and editing is robust and pretty much everything is customizable.
  • Nice looking and decent built in templates.
  • Never any downtime since using it.
  • BigCommerce could use better account manager implementation.
  • The dashboard takes some getting used to in where you can find things at first.
  • Not as many third party tools as Shopify.
I like the BigCommerce platform because it actually does quite a lot of things for businesses of any size. It has the scalability potential right there and is pretty easy to use, if a colleague asked me as well if there are lots of developers for BigCommerce I would tell them that yes you can quite easily find a developer even though there aren't nearly as many as Shopify already has.

I've previously used Magento as an e-commerce platform because the open-source aspect was appealing to me at the time. It ultimately led to much more work and upkeep. Having a built-in CDN is great and there are a lot of capabilities with the apps that are available as add-ons. It took very little time to come up to speed in regards to the functionality. The user interface is very user-friendly. Being able to control each user's permissions is great too. I've never had any issues with the website or checkout loading slowly and a lot of our customers comment on how easy the website is to navigate and use. Linking orders to accounts is a huge plus. We don't like to require users to have an account but when they do decide later on to create an account, a few clicks can link their past orders to their new account. I look forward to continuing to use BigCommerce in the future and I am very confident that it will continue to be a solution that fits our needs.
  • Customer support
  • Plans for all size businesses.
  • Content delivery.
  • Checkout.
  • Available apps.
  • Lower cost.
  • More modern email templates.
  • Endless scrolling.
BigCommerce would be ideal for someone starting with a brand new business. I'm not sure how the migration process is from one platform to another, but it seems like their support team and the plethora of documentation would be more than enough to make the transition. There are many different roles available for employees which you can customize too which is a plus.

BigCommerce facilitates our ecommerce store. We retail a full line of automotive key control products and have been selling online for appx 9 years. We switched to BigCommerce to get more versatility and better optimization for our product line. We also build, manage and optimize BigCommerce stores for clients.
  • Fast load time of site platform on all devices
  • Easy Inventory Management
  • New Variations tools are much faster for data loading
  • Fully accessible meta data for categories, inventory, pages and posts for optimization
  • Convenient built in blog for adding content
  • Platform is easy to train on, we use webex to train clients on their back end management of their stores
  • Multiple Payment options encourage more sales
  • Amazon integration, Google Shopping integration, eBay integration
  • Need to be able to add tracking information to customer order
  • Would like shipping alert to be editable to include tracking number
  • Need more of a WIZWIG editor or theme options that do not require coding, most clients cannot handle the areas of the platform that require html skills to edit
Great for start up or established ecommerce business. For the same price as basic Shopify store you get a full featured store with BigCommerce. We also build a lot of WordPress stores for startups, most migrate to BigCommerce as their revenues grow. For small stores 1-4 products, a Wordpress starting point is more affordable (free ecomm plugins) but when you are ready to make your store a business, you need a full functioning store with the capabilities to integrate with 3rd party shipping and selling platforms.

We're using BigCommerce for our brands after migrating from Magento 2. We evaluated several SaaS ecommerce platforms and landed on BigCommerce (Enterprise plan) as the one that would give us the most features and flexibility, yet still having the lowest total cost of ownership (at least in our case).
  • Features (less reliance on 3rd party plugins)
  • Admin Panel (somewhat subjective, but I find it better than Magento and Shopify)
  • Price (almost half the price of Shopify Plus in our case)
  • Community Resources (e.g. forums, monthly townhalls, private Facebook group, etc.)
  • Apps/Plugins (they have most all the popular ones)
  • Theme customizations should be easier to migrate when updating a theme (currently have to manually note all of your changes to code files and copy/paste them over if you ever decide to update a theme)
  • They're continually releasing new features or enhancements, but they could better prioritize their product roadmap based on the top voted customer ideas
  • I wish they had a customer accessible site/area where you could see a list of any known platform issues and workarounds
  • A few plugins/apps that we would have liked to try don't currently support BigCommerce (e.g. CartHook, PageFly)
  • The included page builder tool is still pretty basic, but you can get Shogun Page Builder if you need something more
We're still relatively new to BigCommerce, but so far it has met or exceeded our expectations. I'd recommend anyone considering it to create a free trial and compare it against your other considerations. While BigCommerce is right for us, you may find Shopify a bit easier if you're less technically inclined and just need to get something up and running since they have a greater selection of themes and plugins. That said, I'd caution against using too many plugins as that may impact your site load time. Also, it should be noted that BigCommerce has recently prioritized WCAG/ADA accessibility standards in all their available themes. Their default Cornerstone theme should soon be certified compliant, with the rest of the free and paid themes to follow.

I have used BigCommerce across 3 platforms for 12 years, it is very user friendly for both retailers and customers, I was one of the earlier customers in Australia and have recommended to many who have also been successful both current and past businesses. If you are looking for e commerce then BigCommerce is the answer.
  • Easy to set up for novices or professionals
  • Very cost effective
  • Built in seo
  • Great selection of templates for all industries both free and paid
  • Ease of check out for customers
  • After 12 years of use I feel the developers and principals of Big Commerce have always been ahead of the curve
  • Big Commerce always seemed to reinvest in their company
  • From where I sit I couldn’t really point to an area where I feel it could be improved
I have sold a business using BigCommerce and the new owners have used the platform for the past seven years .
one of my colleagues swapped to BigCommerce after much badgering over a long period from me and he has seen his business grow in leaps and bounds , especially through these covid times.

I use it for everything. From web design, inventory control to shipping. The software does it all and I don’t need to be a programmer to use it. It does almost everything I need “out of the box” at a reasonable price. They offer 24/7 service by phone and I’ve received the help I needed with just a call.
  • All in one program
  • Reasonable price
  • Good service
  • Higher threshold for sales/ transactions.
  • More and better free templates.
  • Really dumb down the site creation.
I can’t see areas that need improvement. Maybe the price could be a bit cheaper? I wanted a service that did almost everything in one platform. BigCommerce fits the bill for me.
